Paintings stolen from Wanås Slott, Sweden

On Sunday morning, 20 February 2005, six paintings were stolen from Wanås Slott in the south of Sweden.

The list of missing paintings from Wanås Slott reads as follows:

  • Dutch painter (possibly Peter Verelst), Beer drinkers, oil on oak panel, 13 x 10 cm.
  • Willem van Mieris, Drinking and smoking man, oil on oak panel, 19 x 15,5 cm.
  • David Teniers the Younger, Shepherd with his herd, oil on panel, 37 x 27 cm.
  • David Teniers the Younger, A shepherd playing for the herd, oil on panel, 37 x 27 cm.
  • Philip Wouwerman (attributed to), Resting rider, oil on oak panel, 34 x 28,5 cm.
  • Philip Wouwerman (copy after), Rearing horses, oil on oak panel, 35,5 x 39 cm.
