At the end of 2007 the Rijksmuseum launched its series of collection catalogues with the publication of Dutch paintings of the seventeenth century in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Volume I − Artists born between 1570 and 1500, the first of four volumes that will cover the entire 17th century. Now, in March 2009, a little over a year later, the Rijksmuseum is proud to present this online catalogue of early Netherlandish paintings: some 160 works by artists born before 1500.
Works by artists such as Lucas van Leyden, Jheronimus Bosch, Jan van Scorel and Maerten van Heemskerck are presented with an abundance of scientific material. Apart from an entry and a biography of the artist, the catalogue data include technical data, provenance, literature and supporting imagery. The online catalogue can be found here
