CODART 23 Congress Stockholm Postponed

Update: CODART 23 Stockholm will take place from 30 May to 1 June 2021.

After careful consideration, CODART has decided to alter its programming in response to the COVID-19 crisis and postpone the upcoming CODART 23 Congress to a later date. The twenty-third Congress was to take place in Stockholm from 14 to 16 June. Never before was a CODART Congress canceled.

The decision was made after carefully weighing all the facts and risks involved. Our deliberations led to the conclusion that it is not possible to bring together 140 curators from twenty countries at the present time. We are currently engaged in talks with our partners in Stockholm to set a new date in Spring 2021. If a new date is set we will announce this on our website.

We greatly regret that members of CODART will not be able to meet in Stockholm and that all the preparations for this year’s congress cannot come to fruition this year. CODART wishes to express its enormous gratitude to all those involved, our partner in Sweden the Nationalmuseum, all other host institutions, and the CODART program committee for their dedication and cooperation.

Payments made by CODART members who had already registered for CODART 23 will be refunded.

At CODART we are continuing our work on digital projects and events we have planned in the future. We will do our best to keep you informed. We have gathered numerous online initiatives related to Dutch and Flemish art, including virtual tours, podcasts, scholarly resources and more. These can be found on our new CODART at Home page.

However regrettable this postponement may be, it pales into insignificance when set against what is happening now and what lies in store worldwide. The CODART board and team hope you all will remain safe and healthy.
