Telling Her Story: Female Creators, Collaborators and Collectors

From 15 to 17 March 2026, the 27th CODART congress will take place in Ghent. The Museum of Fine Arts (MSK) will be our main host for the three-day event, which will include special visits to other locations, lectures, case studies and, of course, ample time for networking.

The theme of CODART 27 is Telling Her Story: Female Creators, Collaborators and Collectors. Over the past three decades, research into the role of women in art history has steadily increased. The female artist is placed at the forefront in publications, symposiums and exhibitions, also for example in the upcoming exhibition Unforgettable. Women Artists from Antwerp and Amsterdam, 1600-1700 at the MSK, which we will see next year in Ghent. In most instances, the focus has been mainly on the female creator. CODART 27 aims to broaden the topic and investigate the role of women throughout the entire art chain, with a particular emphasis on how we can give these narratives a lasting place within the museum and the mind of the public. Please read the full theme, composed by CODART’s Program Committee, on this page.

A preliminary program and more information about registration will be available on our website in the autumn. We look forward to welcoming you in Ghent!
