CODART, Dutch and Flemish art in museums worldwide

New Curator in the Spotlight: Nadine Orenstein

To celebrate our 25th anniversary, this year the Curator in the Spotlight section will feature members that have been involved with CODART since the very beginning.

Nadine Orenstein knew she wanted to work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art since high school. She recounts the steps she took to get there, shares the stories behind several exhibition projects and highlights several of her favorite works from the collection. Furthermore, she offers valuable advice for students and young curators, as well as her view on the curator’s profession.

Nadine Orenstein is Drue Heinz Curator in Charge of the Department of Drawings and Prints at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. She has been a member of CODART since 1998.

Curator in the Spotlight

The Curator in the Spotlight is a special feature on the CODART website that introduces one of CODART’s members and their work as a curator of Dutch and Flemish art. Every time a different curator writes about their work, projects and exhibitions, and a piece in their collection that is special to them. Recent curators in the spotlight included Ariane van Suchtelen, Joanna A. Tomicka, Olga Kotková and Cécile Tainturier.
