A new digital catalogue of the Kremer Collection has appeared. Founded in 1994 by George and Ilone Kremer, the Kremer Collection is a privately owned collection of seventeenth-century Dutch and Flemish old master paintings.
Edited by Gregor J.M. Weber, the current catalogue details all 97 works presently in the collection. This edition draws from earlier publications, most notably the 2002 catalogue (then under the name Fondation Aetas Aurea) and the publications for the 2008-2009 exhibitions in Cologne, Kassel and Haarlem, as well as the French catalogue for an exhibition in Paris (2011-2012). All existing texts were updated with the latest research on provenance, bibliography and exhibitions, and their content was edited where needed, in consultation with the authors.
The catalogue opens with a foreword by George and Ilone Kremer, and includes essays and entries by Pieter Biesboer, Martin Bijl, Peter van den Brink, Quentin Buvelot, Remmelt Daalder, Wayne Franits, Ab Hoving, Margaret Klinge, Christi M. Klinkert, Wouter Kloek, Joel Kremer, Tom van der Molen, Peter van der Ploeg, Epco Runia, Eddy Schavemaker, Christian Tico Seifert, Leonore van Sloten, Irina Sokolova, Ariane van Suchtelen, Lea van der Vinde, Gregor J. M. Weber, and Marieke de Winkel.
You can access the publication free of charge through the links below. More information about the collection and are high resolution images of all the works of art is available on thekremercollection.com. About half of the collection is currently on display in an exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar (until 1 June).
