New CODARTfeature Published: Provenance Research

A new feature has been published on the CODART website. The attention for provenance research in the art historical world is steadily increasing. This research field now also occupies an important place in museum practice. In this month’s feature, experienced provenance researchers Jona Mooren and Eelke Muller provide an overview of the current status of the field, and offer readers tools and guidelines for their research.

“Provenance research has long had a somewhat dull image. It conjures up images of kilometers of box files and card index systems. Of course, there will be days on which a researcher struggles through piles of old papers without finding a single relevant piece of data.
