The Museo del Prado has digitized its library collection and now offers free online access to more than 11,500 publications from the late fifteenth century to the early twentieth century.
The new Digital Library includes 5,600 journal issues and 6,000 books specializing in literature related to the Prado’s art collection. Among the publications are some 220 rare books that have been published by or illustrated with prints by artists such as Dürer, Rubens and Abraham Bloemaert.
In addition to historical publications, the library catalog also includes modern titles related to the museum’s collection, such as the 2009 catalogue of Dutch paintings by Teressa Kubissa-Posada, as well as many of the museum’s exhibition catalogues, and the latest volumes of the Boletín del Museo del Prado.
