CODART, Dutch and Flemish art in museums worldwide

The Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD) this afternoon launched its spectacularly renewed and expanded website

The Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD) this afternoon launched its spectacularly renewed and expanded website: www.rkd.nl. The presentation took place in the auditorium of the Royal Library (KB), in talks by Rudi Ekkart, director of the RKD, Wim van der Weiden, editor of Actueel Verleden and Rieke van Leeuwen, curator of RKD art-historical databases.

The site is not yet fully operational, but it already contains reference information on 200,000 artists, 60,000 images, about 20% of the vast RKD library and much information about the RKD itself. The launch represents a huge step forward in Internet resources on Dutch and Flemish art while setting a new standard for art-history databases on Internet. CODART congratulates its senior partner with this major achievement.
