Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen launches the website ALMA, a database linking pre-industrial utensils to paintings and prints in which such objects are depicted

On 11 February 2011 Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen launched the website ALMA (Afbeelding Linkt met Artefact – Art Meets Artefacts) at alma.boijmans.nl. The extensive database links pre-industrial utensils to paintings and prints in which such objects are depicted. The interdisciplinary approach not only gives valuable information about the material
object itself, but can also, for example, throw new light on a painting or print. The ALMA Database can be searched extensively and in the ALMA Showcase research results by specialists are
published.
