PROPAINT, the project which was started to develop innovative protection treatments used as a preventive conservation measure for paintings during exhibition, storage and transit, will hold its final seminar and workshop on 20 and 21 November in Krakow, Poland. CODART-members are invited to attend.

Dear Sir / Madam,
The consortium of the EU PROPAINT project is pleased to inform you about the Final Seminar and Workshop which will be held November 20 – 21, 2009 at the National Museum in Krakow (Poland). After three years of intensive and exciting collaborative work, the PROPAINT consortium would like to present to the public the results obtained concerning the protective effects of microclimate frames for paintings and degradation of varnishes. The event will be a unique opportunity to share our research experiences, results and create a discussion forum to learn from and with our international colleagues.
The Final Seminar will discuss the challenges and results achieved in the PROPAINT project with emphasis on microclimate frames for paintings, their design and the degradation of varnishes due to the environment. During the PROPAINT workshop the participants will take part in presentations, demonstrations and interactive activities about the evaluation of the environment inside microclimate frames for paintings, their design and the degradation of varnishes.
