Paintings by Frans Hals en Jacob van Ruysdael stolen from the museum Hofje van Mevrouw van Aerden in Leerdam

In the night of 27 May, two paintings were stolen from the museum Hofje van Mevrouw van Aerden in Leerdam. The works are Frans Hals’ Two laughing boys and a Wooded landscape by Jacob van Ruysdael.

The frame of the painting by Hals has been found back in a hedge a couple of streets from the museum. The painting itself and the work by Van Ruysdael are still traceless.
