Venice has a few examples of early-Flemish art such as the Ecce Homo by Quentin Matsys (Jan’s father) and the Visions of the Hereafter by Hieronymus Bosch. However, works by Jan Massijs are quite rare in Italian museums, with the notable exception of three works by the master in the Strada Nuova Museums of Genoa. Two other depictions of the Virgin by Jan Massijs are in the Prado and the Museo Làzaro Galdiano in Madrid.
