CODART, Dutch and Flemish art in museums worldwide

Changes in the CODART Board

During the recent CODART congress in Warsaw, we said farewell to Manfred Sellink as a member of the Board of CODART. The Director and Head Curator of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp became a member of the Board in 2008 when he was the General Director of the Bruges Museums. He has made many valuable contributions to our organization and was closely involved in the development of CODART’s strategic policy. His views on the role of the curator, his ideas about CODART’s activities, and his elaborate network in Flanders and abroad has benefited CODART greatly.

We are delighted that Elsje Janssen, Scientific Director of Collections of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp has accepted to succeed Manfred Sellink as member of our board. Janssen is specialized in tapestries and textiles, and held various positions in the museum field. She was responsible for the collection policy, conservation and restoration of the Antwerp museums and was most recently Curator of Textiles at the Rijksmuseum. Janssen is currently closely involved in the renovation of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp, which is due to reopen in 2019.

We thank Manfred for all those years of inspirational commitment to our organization and we look forward to Elsje’s involvement in CODART!
