Wonder Walls
On Monday, 26 October, we will visit Museum Gouda for a CODARTfocus dedicated to the exhibition Wonder Walls. This CODARTfocus offers a perfect opportunity to gain insight into how the largest, most valuable, and most prestigious art objects of the seventeenth century in the Low Countries were produced in Gouda.
Curator Ingmar Reesing will provide an introduction to the exhibition. Next, we will explore the Gouda tapestry weavers and their clients in greater depth during a lecture by Rudy Jos Beerens, Senior Collection Specialist at RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History. This will be followed by a talk from Emma Damen, Head of Conservation of De Wit Royal Manufacturers, who will discuss the production process of tapestries.
We look forward to welcoming you to Museum Gouda in October. View the full program for more details. For more practical information and to register for this CODARTfocus, please go to the participate page. If you have any questions about this event, please contact us at events@codart.nl.
This CODARTfocus is made possible with thanks to the generous support of Museum Gouda.
