To celebrate our 25th anniversary, this year the Curator in the Spotlight section will feature members that have been involved with CODART since the very beginning.
Ariane van Suchtelen had only been working at the Mauritshuis for three years when she witnessed the founding of CODART in 1998 in the Golden Room of the museum. In the 25 years that followed, she curated many thematic and monographic exhibitions at the museum, the highlights of which she recounts. She also writes about the acquisition of a portrait by Bartholomäus Bruyn the Elder that was a special moment in her career because it reunited a husband and wife after nearly 125 years.
Ariane van Suchtelen is a curator at the Mauritshuis in The Hague. She has been a member of CODART since 1998.

Curator in the Spotlight
The Curator in the Spotlight is a special feature on the CODART website that introduces one of CODART’s members and their work as a curator of Dutch and Flemish art. Every time a different curator writes about their work, projects and exhibitions, and a piece in their collection that is special to them. Recent curators in the spotlight included Joanna A. Tomicka, Olga Kotková, Cécile Tainturier and Nico Van Hout.
