In the latest edition of our Curator in the Spotlight, CODART member Irina Sokolova tells us about her long career at the State Hermitage Museum, past and current projects and the special story of her discovery of a Wtewael painting. Irina is curator of Dutch Paintings at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, a position she has held since 1979. She has been a member CODART since its founding in 1998.
Curator in the Spotlight
The Curator in the Spotlight is a special feature on the CODART website that introduces one of CODART’s members and their work as a curator of Dutch and Flemish art. Every time a different curator writes about their work, projects and exhibitions, and a piece in their collection that is special to them. Recent curators in the spotlight included Maryan Ainsworth, Stephan Kemperdick, Adam Eaker, and Valerie Herremans.
Are you a curator of Dutch and Flemish art and a member of CODART and would you like to present your work and your favorite piece in the collection to an international audience, then send us a message at email@example.com
