Highlights and twilights: popular and neglected areas of Dutch and Flemish art in museums
From 20-22 March 2011, CODART will hold the CODART VEERTIEN congress in Enschede, in cooperation with the Rijksmuseum Twenthe. The congress theme will delve into matters concerning the “highlights” and “twilights” of a museum’s collection and the problems and opportunities they pose. This year’s congress program features visits to the Rijksmuseum Twenthe’s collection and Restoration studio, as well as the Nicolaas Verkolje (1673-1746). The velvet touch (1 March-30 June 2011) exhibition. Furthermore, excursions will be organized to castles and mansions in the surroundings of Enschede with collections normally closed to the public, such as the drawings collection at Museum de Fundatie (Het Nijenhuis Castle) in Heino. The congress’ festive opening on 20 March will be held in a royal venue, namely Het Loo Palace in Apeldoorn. Register now!
