CODARTfeatures

Published monthly, the CODARTfeatures provide information on new curatorial developments, current projects, collections of Dutch and Flemish art in museums worldwide, as well as insight into the work of the museum curator. You can find all CODARTfeatures on our site, together with articles from its predecessor, the CODART eZine (2012-2019).

Anniversary Magazine

In celebration of its 25th anniversary in 2023, CODART compiled and published a special anniversary magazine, in which members, Friends, and others involved with CODART reflect on the past two-and-a-half decade. But we also look ahead to the future and the role curators and CODART have in it. Featuring interviews, projects that have come about (partly) thanks to CODART, members’ favorite memories, conversations between junior and senior curators, the highlights of the survey ‘The Curator of the Future’ – and much more! You can preview the magazine or order a copy through our website.

CODART Canon

The CODART Canon is a list of 100 superb works of art that provides an overpowering overview of the work of the Dutch and Flemish Old Masters.  Aesthetic highlights, crucial masterpieces, and striking outliers that are of great importance to art history. The initial selection was made during 2019 by 100 curators from twenty countries, members of CODART, and informed by a public vote. The Canon has been published online and in book form in 2021. It includes entries by the participating curators, each describing one work of art and explaining why they think it is special. You can view all 100 works on the CODART Canon site.

CODART Courant

The CODART Courant was the bi-annual newsletter of the international council for curators of Dutch and Flemish art, published by CODART from 1998 to 2011. It focused on Dutch and Flemish art in museums all around the world and the curators in charge of these collections. The CODART Courant featured news headings, introductions to lesser known collections, opinion articles and interviews concerning the work of the curator and news about CODART and its activities. All 21 issues of the CODART Courant are available in PDF-format.
