CODARTfocus in the MASĀ in Antwerp 10 October 2011

On Monday 10 October 2011 CODART is invited by curator and CODART member Nico Van Hout of the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen (KMSKA) to focus on the exhibition Masterpieces in the MAS. Five Centuries of Images in Antwerp in Antwerp’s newest museum: the Museum aan de Stroom (MAS). In the morning Nico van Hout will guide us through the exhibition, which brings together five centuries of masterpieces from various museums of Antwerp, that together tell the story of Antwerp’s rich history and art historical heritage. In the afternoon we will be able to discuss the new museum concept that is the MAS by visiting The Visible Storage and the Display of Power exhibition, guided by the museum’s director, Carl Depauw.

The museum is closed to the public this day and will be opened exclusively for our group. To make this occasion even more special we are invited on one of the top floors of the building for a closing reception with a stunning panoramic view of Antwerp and the river Scheldt.
